Nykaa Skin Sheild Anti-Pollution Foundation

Hello People,

Hope you all are doing well. I’m back with another review after a long long time. Hope you guys find it helpful.

So, In this post, I’m going to review the newly launched product from the brand Nykaa Cosmetics. Yes, you guessed it right! It’s Nykaa Skin Shield Anti-Pollution Foundation. It is formulated with Triple Active Action Formula which provides a Shield against the Pollution, Deeply Hydrates the skin and has an Oil Control Action. Before getting into its detailed review, let me tell you first that they have come up with 15 shades covering a wide range of Indian skin tones which is absolutely commendable. They’ve got it all- warm toned, cool toned as well as neutral toned shades. Though they do not cover all the skin tones out there, it is a great beginning. I really appreciate Nykaa for their inclusive shade range this time.

How to use Nykaa Skinshield Anti-Pollution Foundation?

Cleanse the face and apply directly to the skin to even out the skin tone. Make sure to prep your skin prior to the application to get that flawless base.

My take on Nykaa SkinShield Anti-Pollution Foundation:

Packaging:  Nykaa Anti-Pollution Foundation comes in a black outer cardboard box with all the required information mentioned at its back. The actual product comes in a very handy matte black squeezy tube with a flip cap on its top and a shade lining towards its neck. It also has the required information at its back. The packaging is pretty basic yet classic. It has a small nozzle to avoid product wastage. Overall, the packaging is absolutely fuss-free, travel-friendly and spill proof.

Consistency and Fragrance: It has a thick creamy consistency which is totally as per my liking. The fragrance of Nykaa skin shield anti-pollution foundation is very weird. It smells like some chemical to me. However, the fragrance is not that overpowering and it goes away completely in a few seconds post application.

I chose the shade 07 Hot Honey for myself seeing the shade chart. The shade which is shown in the picture and the shade I got in real looks a bit different but luckily it matches my skin tone perfectly. So, I suggest you to go to the nykaa store and get yourself matched as the online shade chart might be a little misleading and you might end up buying a wrong shade. For shade reference, I’m in the shade NC30 in MAC and 220 Natural Beige in Maybelline Fit Me.

Now coming to the application, I tried applying it with a foundation brush as well as a beauty blender. Obviously the coverage varies. The brush gives a medium to full coverage whereas with the beauty blender, the coverage is sheer to medium. This Skin shield foundation is buildable but make sure to go not more than 3 layers which I feel is more than enough.

The finish of Nykaa Skin shield Foundation is absolutely beautiful. It sets in a soft matte finish and looks totally skin-like and natural. I love the fact that it is not flat matte. It has that natural dewiness and glow to it which I absolutely love. It feels extremely comfortable on the skin and doesn’t feel heavy at all.

Initially it looks a bit pale on my skin but it oxidized a little and matched my skin tone perfectly.

Also, It gives a blurred effect to the open pores and covers up the acne marks and pigmentation really well with just one layer. It also covers up the dark circles to some extent without accentuating the fine lines over there.

Now talking about the wear time, I must say I’m really amazed to see its performance.  I did a 12 hour test for few consecutive days and It stays put on my skin for7- 8 hours in this super hot and humid weather. By the end of the day it wears off a little near my mouth area and my T-zone feels a little bit oily. There was no cakey look or creasing at all throughout the day. I love the way it stays put for almost the entire day.

My skin looks healthy and natural while wearing this foundation and it does live up to its claim of hydrating the skin as well. It doesn’t irritate my skin and I haven’t experienced any breakouts too. This Skin Shield foundation is suitable for all skin types just make sure you prep your skin well. And, if you have extremely oily skin make sure you set your base with a compact powder.

Also, Let me tell you that Nykaa Skin Shield Anti Pollution Foundation has the goodness of Enantia Chlorantha Bark Extracts which helps to control sebum production and helps to reduce large open pores. Also, It has silicone in it so if you’re someone who is allergic to silicones, you can give it a miss.

Overall, I really love this Nykaa Skin Shield Anti-Pollution Foundation. It comes in 15 beautiful shades ranging from fair to wheatish to dusky skin tone. It has a luxurious soft matte and natural finish. The foundation gives a healthy dewiness to the skin. It is a buildable foundation and gives medium to full coverage. The formula is simply amazing. It stays put throughout the day. The best part is that it is extremely comfortable on the skin and is totally skin-like. Also, It is free from parabens & minerals and is cruelty-free as well. I highly recommend Nykaa Skin Shield Anti-Pollution Foundation to everyone out there. Do give it a try and I’m sure you’ll love it.
